Po' Girl and Rusty Belle Shuffle the Ancient Deck of Musical Cards TONIGHT at the Horse.

Po’ Girl were formed in 2000 by Trish Klein of The Be Good Tanyas and Allison Russell of Vancouver-based Celtic group Fear Of Drinking. Their self-entitled debut draws on influences as diverse as Mississippi John Hurt, Rickie Lee Jones, & Tracy Chapman. These urban minstrels pen harmony drenched melodies, vagabond lullabies, beat poetry, and inner-city blues to warm your toes and panty hose. The three ladies all sing, write and perform on a vanload of instruments including banjo, guitar, clarinet, piano, accordion, gutbucket bass, electric bass, harmonica, penny-whistle, fiddle and that's where we stopped counting.

Rusty Belle hails from Amherst. Our street team superstar Monika swears by them. She stands right next to them and says the dirtiest words! They've concocted an intoxicating musical brew, nurtured their wild and hairy live show, and built a following of loyal, almost devout, fans and friends. This will be a night of uncertain boundaries and the untamed armpits of free expression.

Buy tickets for Po' Girl and Rusty Belle here until 4PM today. After that you can buy 'em at the door from 5:30.
